This Privacy Policy explains how VF Tasks ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how your data is handled.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. INFORMATION WE DO NOT COLLECT

We want to be clear upfront: we do not maintain a developer backend server to harvest, collect, or store your personal data.

• We do NOT collect your name, email address, or phone number.
• We do NOT store your tasks, lists, or notes on our servers.
• We do NOT collect or store your voice recordings.
• We do NOT collect, store, or have any access to your OpenAI API Key.

2. HOW YOUR DATA IS PROCESSED AND STORED

The App is designed to function entirely on your local device, with the exception of communicating directly with third-party services required to provide the app's core features.

a. Local Storage

All data generated within the App—including your tasks, app preferences, settings, and your OpenAI API key—is stored strictly locally on your device's internal storage. We have no access to this data.

b. Microphone and Voice Data

The App requires access to your device's microphone (RECORD_AUDIO permission) to allow you to create tasks using your voice.

• When you use voice input, your audio is processed using your device's native speech recognition service (such as Google Speech Services).
• We do not record, save, or transmit your audio files to our servers.
• The transcription of your voice (the text) is processed locally and may be sent to OpenAI (see below) to generate tasks.

c. OpenAI Integration and API Keys

To provide AI-powered task breakdown features, the App integrates with OpenAI's API.

• You are required to provide your own OpenAI API Key to use these features.
• Your API key is stored securely and locally on your device. It is ONLY transmitted directly to OpenAI's official servers (api.openai.com) to process your requests.
• When you use the AI features, the text of your request is sent to OpenAI to be analyzed and broken down into tasks.
• You are responsible for the security of your API key and any usage costs incurred through your OpenAI account. We recommend reviewing OpenAI's Privacy Policy (https://openai.com/privacy) to understand how they handle the text data sent via their API.

3. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The App relies on third-party services to function. These services have their own Privacy Policies addressing how they handle data:

• Google Play Services / Google Speech Recognition: Used for voice-to-text transcription. (https://policies.google.com/privacy)
• OpenAI: Used for AI task analysis and generation. (https://openai.com/privacy)

4. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION

Because your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. You can delete your data at any time by:

• Deleting individual tasks or all completed tasks within the App.
• Clearing the App's storage/cache in your Android device settings.
• Uninstalling the App entirely. Uninstalling the App will immediately delete all locally stored tasks, settings, and your API key from your device.

5. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Our App does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information (for example, if a parent contacts us regarding a local device issue), we will guide the parent on how to delete the app and its local data. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has used the App, please have them uninstall it to remove any locally stored data.

6. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
